• Creamy chocolate pudding – Dorie às Sextas •
Another challenge from Dorie às Sextas. This time round the challenge was to make a creamy chocolate pudding (not like what we know in Portugal as Pudim, but a spoon dessert instead – a sort of creamy chocolate mousse). I was true to Dorie’s original recipe, but I added a single ingredient which went really well with it. I added mint which gave it a heavenly taste – it seemed as though we were eating the famous After Eight chocolates in pudding form. |
No robot coloque agora o açúcar restante, o ovo e as gemas e misture 1 minuto. |
Ingredients for 6 cups (or 10 small glasses as those in the picture):
2 and ¼ teacups whole milk Traditional directions: Put a casserole to heat containing half the sugar and 2 cups of milk. Meanwhile, add the maize starch, the cocoa and the salt in a robot, mix it all and reserve. Put now the remaining sugar in the robot along with the egg and the yolks and mix it for 1 minute. Add the remaining milk (1/4 cup) and press the button several times (or use the button pulse). Add then the dry ingredients and press pulse to mix them. While the machine is working, slowly add the hot milk mixture. Once everything is well mixed together, put the mixture back in the casserole without letting it boil until it gains consistency. Remove from heat and add the chocolate, the butter, the vanilla and the mint, letting it rest for a while. Take this mixture to the robot once again until you get a homogeneous mixture. Distribute the pudding over the glasses/cups and put some cling film over each of them to avoid that hard and dry layer that forms on top of the puddings. Let it cool in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Directions for Thermomix: Put 2 cups of milk, the sugar, the cocoa, the maize starch and the salt in the cup. |
A receita original é do livro “Baking from my home to yours” da Dorie Greenspan e a fantástica adaptação à bimby é do extraordinário blogue Sabores de Canela.
